A ‘Must Read’ article…

I seriously urge everybody to just say ‘NO!’ to ObamaCare. Don’t participate. Don’t sign up. Don’t pay any fines or fees. Don’t even file tax returns if they ask about your health insurance.

Here’s that ‘must read’ article.

A Deadly Breakup

This is what happens when you no longer please Maximum Leader. You have been warned.

-Un Crazy MoFo

Firing Squad For Kim-Jong-Un’s Ex, and all her buddies too

The ex-girlfriend of North Korean leader Kim-Jong-un was one of a dozen people reportedly < ahref="http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2013/08/29/2013082901412.html">executed by a firing squad last week.

The South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reports that singer Hyon Song-wol and 11 others had been arrested on August 17 for violating North Korea’s laws against pornography and was executed three days later.

The paper reported that the condemned, all members of the performing groups Unhasu Orchestra and Wangjaesan Light Music Band, were accused of making videos of themselves having sex and selling the videos, which the paper reported were available in China.

They were executed with machine guns while the key members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wangjaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band as well as the families of the victims looked on,” a source told the paper. The source added that all of the families of the executed appear to have been sent to prison camps under North Korea’s barbaric principle of guilt by association.

Wow. Maximum Leader? More like maximum psychotic. Bet his current wife (who was part of that same orchestra!!) is obedient as all get out now ... not that there’s any difference between being his wife or being a slave anyhow. Horry Clap, what a bunch of Roony Tunes. Please world, stop sending them food and fuel. Let them starve, m’kay?

Yes, it was notable news ... in 1957 when this was published.

Click over to Climate Depot for the latest on the mock-crisis of Climate Change.

PS - Don’t worry; the Arctic ice is at it’s highest level in a long time, with more than 50% more ice than last year, now that the peak of the melting season has passed. And the Antarctic ice is at record setting levels. So if anything, you’d figure there would be more water than ever locked up in ice floes. Maybe so. That’s why the UN - where all the real, honest climate scientists work - is predicting that sea levels could rise as much as 80cm - 31.5” - in the next 87 years. Run for your lives!!!!111!

The world is on track to become up to five degrees hotter, and sea levels could rise more than 80 centimetres this century, according to a leaked draft of a landmark climate change report prepared for the UN.

There is now a 95 per cent likelihood human greenhouse gas emissions are driving changes being observed globally, which in recent weeks have included extraordinary heatwaves in Asia and Alaska.

That degree of certainty has been revised up from 90 per cent in the last report in 2007, 66 per cent in 2001, and just over 50 in 1995. A sea level rise of up to 82 centimetres, which would have serious impacts on coastal cities everywhere, is now ‘’unequivocal’’, Reuters reported.

So let’s tax the daylights out of any country with white people in it, to obtain billions to fight this menace, while completely ignoring asking the Turd Word - with 1/2 the world’s population, diversely brown, black, and yellow people (China, India, Indonesia, and almost all of Africa) - to do as much as not burn a single twig less. Because equality. And development. Oh, and to make it work, we’re going to have to institute a totalitarian one-world government with complete control over every aspect of your life. But it’s for the chiiiildren. And the plaaaanet. So submit. You racist.

Because King Obama Says So

Obama’s Carbon Plan: Who Needs Congress Anyhow?

Obama gwine sabes all’n us from dat ole Globbal Warmun. Even if there ain’t been none for more’n 10 years!

President Obama is launching fresh battles over climate change with plans to curb emissions using executive powers that sidestep Congress — including controversial rules to cut carbon pollution from existing power plants. [WATCH VIDEO]

The wide-ranging plan, which Obama will tout in a speech later Tuesday, also beefs up federal efforts to help deploy low-carbon and renewable energy, and has programs to help harden communities against climate-fueled extreme weather.

Internationally, it seeks to knock down trade barriers to climate-friendly goods and services; enhance cooperation with India, China and other big carbon emitters; and curb U.S. support for overseas coal plant construction, among many other steps.

The plan is designed to get around Congress, where major climate bills have no political traction. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that Obama’s executive approach “reflects reality.”

No Jay, you three faced lying sack of un-composted canine throughput, “reality” is a nation of laws, and the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government debating and making those laws. And if they won’t pass a law, you don’t get to just go and do an end run around them.

All the little chirpy talking heads on the Weather Channel were all excited about this today, how it’s going to Finally Do Something about Carbon Levels and Global Warming. And not one of these mesmerized sheep even blinked an eye at the completely un-American and probably illegal method being employed.

The EPA will propose the existing plant standards by June of next year and finalize them a year later, an administration official said.

Guess it’s high time for the EPA to go bye-bye too. No government agency has the right or the power to set rules that come with the power of law (and GUNS to back them up no less!!) without the consent of the governed ... ie, it HAS to go through the Legislature.

Daniel P. Schrag, a White House climate adviser and director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment, tells the New York Times “a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.” Later today, President Obama will give a major “climate change” address at Georgetown University.

“Everybody is waiting for action,” Schrag tells the paper. “The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

Obama’s speech today is expected to offer “a sweeping plan to address climate change on Tuesday, setting ambitious goals and timetables for a series of executive actions to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and prepare the nation for the ravages of a warming planet,” according to the Times.

I halfway agree. A war IS exactly what’s needed. But not on coal. On the Executive Branch.

The president calls for the Environmental Protection Agency to “expeditiously” set limits on carbon dioxide emissions for new and existing power plants, a move that will be hailed by environmentalists and decried as debilitating by the struggling coal industry.

“To accomplish these goals, President Obama is issuing a Presidential Memorandum directing the Environmental Protection Agency to work expeditiously to complete carbon pollution standards for both new and existing power plants,” states the Obama plan. “This work will build on the successful first-term effort to develop greenhouse gas and fuel economy standards for cars and trucks.”

“In developing the standards, the President has asked the Environmental Protection Agency to build on state leadership, provide flexibility, and take advantage of a wide range of energy sources and technologies including many actions in this plan,” the document continues.

Regulations previously proposed by the EPA to limit emissions at new power plants would effectively ban the construction of new coal-fired power plants unless they utilize carbon capture technology, which the industry argues is not commercially viable.

I have had it up the HERE with this buffoon. He is NOT God. He is NOT Emperor. He is NOT King. I have my doubts at this point that he’s even an American. Impeach this thug.

Oh, and By The Way:

This Executive Order will also KILL the Keystone XL pipeline, and double the price of electricity. Read it at Ace.

brit pm willing to go to war on a lie he keeps repeating, figuring ppl will have to believe

David Cameron warned today he may still sanction military intervention in the war-torn nation amid growing evidence that Assad is using chemical weapons against his own people.

Well David Cameron is full of it, he wants that to be true but has NO absolute proof.  But he does want Assad gone and believes he has the right to make it so.  Of course, if he keeps repeating this line he may just get other people to believe it as well.

So far, even human rights groups who as you all know I am no fan of, and who also dislike Assad, they say the rebels fighting him have gotten their hands on chemical weapons AND HAVE USED THEM.
Even that loud mouth Carla Del Ponte, a former Chief Prosecutor of two United Nations international criminal law tribunals, has said there is proof now that it was NOT Assad’s people but the rebels themselves who have used chemical weapons.
If you read the papers here, and I do, on one page you can read Del Ponte being quoted that way, and on another page you will read a quote of Cameron’s saying otherwise with NEVER a reference to what she has said.

I don’t believe Assad is that dumb.  If he is, he deserves to be out of office if for no other reason, than being stupid.  And I really doubt he is.  This is a civil war, it’s religious and it’s tribal and it’s a mess.  And Cameron wants to dive right into the middle of this thing. Which you can understand because the UK has NO urgent problems to be solved at home.  And besides, there’s spare cash in the treasury needs spending before the taxpayers, who’ve been told to tighten their belts, find all that hidden money. Which from now on we can simply refer to as Moron’s secret cash war fund.
Oh ... and do not count out Obama folks.  He’s being a bit more cautious at the moment but every so often I hear a sabre rattling.

Obama wants to help the rebels with non lethal aid.  Moron wants war. Action. Boom-boom. No more empire and no Germans to fight and the French aren’t inclined to battle the Brits so what to do.

COME TO THE IMMEDIATE AID MILITARILY IF NEED BE, OF THESE HARD FIGHTING FREEDOM FIGHTERS OPPOSED TO ASSAD.

Right on Dave.  We’re with ya.

Lets take a look at some of the hard fighting freedom loving rebels who yearn to be free.

Syrian rebel ‘cuts out soldier’s heart and EATS it’ in horrific propaganda video

· Rebel is believed to be Abu Sakkar, a founder of the rebel Farouq Brigade
· Sakkar rants: ‘I swear we’ll eat from your hearts and livers, you dogs’
· He then raises one of the organs to his mouth and takes a bite
· Cameron warns he may send troops as evidence of chemical weapons grows

By Matt Blake

A video that appears to show a Syrian rebel cutting out and eating the heart of a dead government soldier has been posted online in a horrific new propaganda stunt.

The unverified clip, posted by a pro-government campaign group, claims to show a man - believed to be Abu Sakkar, the well-known founder of Homs’ Farouq Brigade - standing over the uniformed corpse in a ditch while ranting against President Bashar al Assad.

Using a knife, the man hacks open the torso and removes two organs before holding them up to the camera and declaring: ‘I swear to God we will eat your hearts and your livers, you soldiers of Bashar the dog.’ He then raises one to his mouth and takes a bite.

It comes as David Cameron warned today he may still sanction military intervention in the war-torn nation amid growing evidence that Assad is using chemical weapons against his own people.

The video, posted on YouTube by and billed as proof of a war crime, is the latest installment of a propaganda war that is growing fast behind the scenes of this bloody conflict.

Last month, a photograph was released by a pro-Assad group based in Lebanon that appeared to show a young rebel fighter barbecuing the severed head of a government soldier.

Experts say such images demonstrate that the battlefield has spread from rubble-strewn streets and war-churned fields to the internet as both sides vie to control their public image and discredit that of their opposition.

Meanwhile, human rights groups say it is emblematic of a civil war that has rapidly descended into sectarian hatred and revenge killings.

In the most recent video, Sakkar tells the camera: ‘I swear to God we will eat your hearts and your livers, you soldiers of Bashar the dog,’
His rant is greeted by offscreen cheers of his comrades shouting ‘Allahu akbar (God is great)’.

And he probably will.  After all, his kids are still too young to wear a uniform and be put in harms way.

Sounds Like A Tyrant To Me

Obama Trying For Another Legislative End Run

Blocked by Congress from expanding gun sale background checks, President Obama is turning to actions within his own power to keep people from buying a gun who are prohibited for mental health reasons.

Federal law bans certain mentally ill people from purchasing firearms, but not all states are providing data to stop the prohibited sales to the FBI’s background check system. A federal review last year found 17 states contributed fewer than 10 mental health records to the database, meaning many deemed by a judge to be a danger still could have access to guns.

The Obama administration was starting a process Friday aimed at removing barriers in health privacy laws that prevent some states from reporting information to the background check system. The action comes two days after the Senate rejected a measure that would have required buyers of firearms online and at gun shows to pass a background check. That’s already required for shoppers at licensed gun dealers.

Stung by the defeat, Obama vowed to keep up the fight for the background check expansion but also to do what he could through executive action.

I don’t know if this is serious, or if it’s just more petulant smoke and mirrors from Teh Won. And I really don’t know how much Executive Action other presidents have done, but I’m getting pretty sick and tired of this shizz. I think it’s time for some new laws, maybe even a Constitutional Amendment, limited and specifying the power of the President. No more self-appointed un-vetted “czars”. No more “executive actions”. Or damn few. Everything goes through the Legislature, the way it is supposed to. Obama’s constant use of these things really smacks of tyranny.

“Even without Congress, my administration will keep doing everything it can to protect more of our communities,” Obama said from the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate voted. “We’re going to address the barriers that prevent states from participating in the existing background check system.”

Obama also mentioned giving law enforcement more information about lost and stolen guns and establishing emergency plans for schools. Those measures were among the 23 executive actions the president signed in January when he announced his broader push for tighter gun laws in response to a mass shooting of first-graders and staff at Newtown, Conn.’s Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The Health and Human Services Department on Friday was beginning to ask for public comment on how the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, passed by Congress in 1996 and known as HIPAA, is preventing some states from reporting to the background check system and how to address the problem. Under HIPAA, health care providers such as hospitals may release limited information to police, but only in certain circumstances such as when a court is involved.

Well, so much for privacy. Let’s just take that existing HIPAA law and throw it away because it’s inconvenient. Tyranny!

From what I’ve heard, mental health professionals have been given a binary choice when it comes to people looking to buy guns. All or nothing. And I’ve heard from a couple doctors that the word on the medical street is that no shrink in his right mind is ever, ever, going to say YES, because that just might put him in a liability position. So maybe gun owners had better take up Tai Chi, Transcendental Meditation, Rolfing, or somesuch to get their heads on straight, along with swearing off the anti-depressants and the anti-anxiety meds everyone else is on. And don’t ever lie down on that iconic couch.

Hugo Takes The Bit Dirt Nap

One Down, One To Go

image

U.S. officials quickly cast Hugo Chavez’s death as an opportunity for America to rebuild a relationship with Venezuela and for the country itself to pursue “meaningful democratic reforms,” with President Obama heralding a “new chapter” in the Latin American country’s history.

Chavez, who had been battling cancer since 2011, died Tuesday after 14 years in power. An election is expected to be held in 30 days – the transition marks one of the first major challenges for newly appointed Secretary of State John Kerry.

Obama kept a measured tone in a statement released Tuesday evening.

“At this challenging time of President Hugo Chavez’s passing, the United States reaffirms its support for the Venezuelan people and its interest in developing a constructive relationship with the Venezuelan government,” Obama said. “As Venezuela begins a new chapter in its history, the United States remains committed to policies that promote democratic principles, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill were less reserved.

“Hugo Chavez was a tyrant who forced the people of Venezuela to live in fear,” Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said in a written statement. “His death dents the alliance of anti-U.S. leftist leaders in South America. Good riddance to this dictator.”

It’s just a damn shame that his people didn’t rise up and Ghaddafi him. Too bad. And I’m sure most of Hollywood is in deep mourning today, the filthy commies.

Onto more important matters ... I think my chicken is done cooking on the grill.

Our Continuing Adventures Across the 8th Dimension

To really loosely paraphrase Buckaroo Banzai, “No matter where you go, SciFi got there first.”

Vilmar posted on the latest crop of government drones - small as bees, and with the power to kill - and I realized that this was a song and dance I’d heard many years before.

Herman?
Yes Mr. Peabody?
Set the Wayback machine for 1953. We’re looking for Robert Scheckley and his short story Watchbirds.

Thousands of watchbirds, trying to stop countless millions of murders—a hopeless task. But the watchbirds didn’t hope. Without consciousness, they experienced no sense of accomplishment, no fear of failure. Patiently they went about their jobs, obeying each stimulus as it came.

They couldn’t be everywhere at the same time, but it wasn’t necessary to be. People learned quickly what the watchbirds didn’t like and refrained from doing it. It just wasn’t safe. With their high speed and superfast senses, the watchbirds got around quickly.

And now they meant business. In their original directives there had been a provision made for killing a murderer, if all other means failed.

Why spare a murderer?

But Mr. Peabody! All the smart BMEWS readers know that Scheckley borrowed the name from a weekly comic of the era that was used to teach children how to behave!
Of course Herman. And they’ve read about watchbirds here before too.  The great illustrator Munro Leaf ran the comic for decades.

Aww Mr. Peabody, don’t be such a drone!
Don’t make me have to swoop down there and kill you Herman.
Yes Mr. Peabody.

Build A Fence, Start A Blockade, Let Them Starve

Norks Set Off Nuke #3

Plutonium bomb (???) registers 5.1 on the Richter Scale

Whachu gonna do Obamba? Whachu gonna do?

China joins U.S., Japan in condemning North Korea nuclear test [like that will make any difference]

North Korea conducted its third nuclear test on Tuesday in defiance of existing U.N. resolutions, drawing condemnation from around the world, including from its only major ally, China, which summoned the North Korean ambassador to protest.

The reclusive North said the test was an act of self-defense against “U.S. hostility” and threatened further, stronger steps if necessary.

It said the test had “greater explosive force” than the 2006 and 2009 tests. Its KCNA news agency said it had used a “miniaturized” and lighter nuclear device, indicating that it had again used plutonium which is more suitable for use as a missile warhead.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the third of his line to rule the country, has presided over two long-range rocket launches and a nuclear test during his first year in power, pursuing policies that have propelled his impoverished and malnourished country closer to becoming a nuclear weapons power.

China, which has shown signs of increasing exasperation with the recent bellicose tone of its neighbor, summoned the North Korean ambassador in Beijing and protested sternly, the Foreign Ministry said.

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said China was “strongly dissatisfied and resolutely opposed” to the test and urged North Korea to “stop any rhetoric or acts that could worsen situations and return to the right course of dialogue and consultation as soon as possible”.

China is a permanent member of the Security Council.

U.S. President Barack Obama labeled the test a “highly provocative act” that hurt regional stability and pressed for new sanctions.

Oooooh, more sanctions! Sure. The only “sanction” that will work is to cut this rogue nation off from the rest of the planet. Nothing gets in, nothing gets out. No fuel, no food, no medicine, no technology. Let them eat dirt. Um, I mean let them eat more dirt. That’s the easy way. The hard way is to nuke them or invade them. Pardon the pun, but those solutions have too much fallout to make it worthwhile. So send them a really strongly worded letter:

Dear North Korea:
Die.
Signed,
The Whole World

and then make it stick.

With any luck, Iran might get the message too.

mutual dislike of America and a row over a dirtbag

A mutual dislike of America and a row over that dirtbag Assange, brought together Ecuador and Iran.
Murky business deals are afoot.

I haven’t posted the whole article but it is worth reading.  Who’d have ever given any thought to things like this, without the investigative reporting of a paper like the Telegraph?
Funny isn’t it, I approve of this and I really do believe they are truthful in the reportage.
BUT .. I never approved of Woodward and Bernstein and still believe that for whatever mistakes Nixon made, whatever unintended wrongs, okay. Intended as well, I always will believe Nixon was stitched up by the left.  I never thought it was all as bad as made out by those lefty loudmouthed bastards like Church and Absug. I don’t even know if I spelled the skanks name right and who cares? I’m glad they’re both dead and rotting.
Anyway … this isn’t about a former president.

UNITED BY A COMMON ENEMY

Julian Assange case: Ecuador accused of allowing Iran to evade sanctions
Documents obtained by The Sunday Telegraph in Quito reveal detailed plans to establish substantial banking mechanisms between Iran and Ecuador.
By Philip Sherwell in Quito

image

The pictures show a backslapping mood of bonhomie between a left-wing South American president and the radical Islamic leader of Iran. Meeting in the mountain-ringed city of Quito last January, Presidents Rafael Correa of Ecuador and Mahmoud Ahmedinejad of Iran looked best of friends as they waved from the balcony of the Spanish-built Carondelet Palace.
Just how much an austere Islamist like Mr Ahmadinejad and a flamboyant, US-educated Catholic like Mr Correa really have in common is anybody’s guess.

But they do have a mutual dislike of America, a country described as “imperialist” by Mr Correa and as the “Great Satan” by Mr Ahmadinejad. And it is that same “enemy’s enemy is my friend” spirit that has now led Mr Correa to spark a diplomatic storm with Britain, after allowing the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, to take refuge in Ecuador’s London embassy.

The dispute, which has seen Britain surround the embassy with police, revolves around fears that Mr Assange, who is wanted for questioning over sexual assault claims in Sweden, may then end up being handed to America for trial over his leaking of a mass of US diplomatic cables.
That Mr Correa’s government has a highly questionable record on the very press freedom that Mr Assange claims to be a martyr is of little import: for Mr Assange, Ecuador’s support represents a potential get-out ticket, and for Mr Correa, it is simply another chance to poke Uncle Sam and its loyal ally, Britain, in the eye.

Yet for many of Mr Correa’s critics both at home and abroad, his tactical friendship with Mr Assange is indeed no more than that – a diplomatic nuisance, designed simply to make Mr Correa a new darling of the anti-American Left.
Of far greater concern, they say, is his burgeoning relationship with Iran – which, they claim, is now getting help from Quito to dodge the Western-backed sanctions imposed to stop it going ahead with its suspected nuclear weapons program.

Documents obtained by The Sunday Telegraph in Quito last week reveal that detailed plans have been drawn up to establish substantial banking mechanisms between the two countries, even though they lie 8,000 miles apart and have only the tiniest of trade links.

So why? After all, the raunchy nightlife of Quito is not going to attract Iranian tourists, for whom drinking and dancing is banned by religious decree. Nor do the bananas of which Ecuador is the world’s largest exporter feature high on Tehran’s import list.
Instead, the new financial ties have prompted suspicions that the real intention is to help Tehran circumvent sanctions by channelling funds through Quito.

“The trading links between the two countries are marginal, so this new orientation by our government can only be explained in ideological terms or hidden deals,” said Cesar Montufar, an opposition leader who first helped reveal the Iranian ties last month.

“Correa wants to position himself as a representative of the radical left on a global stage. The Assange case fits with that strategy. And so does his approach to Iran.”
What would make those links all the more appealing to Tehran is that Ecuador has used the US dollar as its own currency since a 2000 financial crisis brought the country to its knees. So any deal would give Iran, which is being choked of access to US dollars by international sanctions, immediate access to America’s financial backyard.

The mullahs of the Islamic Republic are not alone in being lured by Ecuador’s dollar economy and loose financial controls, however. Other far less pious customers are also believed to showing an interest, including global drugs cartels, money launderers and terror financiers, according to international financial crimes investigators and US anti-narcotics officials.

pygmies of politics draw a line in the sand, warn assad how to act in his own country

I heard on the radio that Obama has drawn a line in the sand (now that’s an appropriate word, sand is.) with regard to the use of chemical weapons by Assad. Then the Brit PM got into the act, not wanting to leave the bright and brave spotlight on O., and he too drew a line in the sand on the same issue.  Now France wants to flex military muscle because they are suggesting an alliance of western powers and bypassing the United Nations can you believe that?  The French suggest a limited version of a no fly zone. They want action but short of war.

As I listen to all this bloated bull shit from these political pigmies, I am left with the notion that France and the USA and the Brits, are all actually hoping like mad that Assad does use chemical weapons and thus give them the excuse they are desperate to find, to topple him.

Another thought also comes to mind.

All that lovely technology used in the action in Libya, and it could be that the war there ended too quickly for the allies to use some other toys.
And lets face it, we do have so much unused and untested so far in actual warfare.

Oh joy.  Now here’s their chance in Syria to play with some more toys, if only Assad will co-operate and use his weapons of mass destruction.  It’s sort of like real estate with location, location, location.
But in this case with Syria and President Assad, it’s chemical weapons, chemical weapons, chemical weapons.
Never mind that so far at least, he has not issued so much as a threat to do that.
In fact, the allies have been clear that even the threat will be enough to bring them in on Syria’s civil war.

I guess the bottom line is no surprise.
Only those govts. who have the approval of the politically correct powers that rule in the west, are allowed to defend themselves against armed insurgents hiding among civilians.  Insurgents who quickly cry democracy and call themselves freedom fighters usually get the front pages and the support they need.  The party in power almost always loses the propaganda war and the other over used cry is then heard.

Civilians are being slaughtered by their own government.  There’s mass-a- crees being committed and it’s all documented by who?
Right.  “Activists”.  Amnsty Intl., Civil Rights Watch, and a dozen other nosy do gooders who’ve no business there in the first place.

It does look very much like Assad could be ousted.  There’s talk here that Brit specialists are already there and have been. Hell, who’d know?
But I wonder what would replace him?

So do the few Christians who remain and whose questions have yet to be answered.

Norway: Socialist Tyranny

Today’s Totally Misleading Headline:

Norwegian Justice: Just 10 Years for Murder of 77?

A Norwegian court sentenced Anders Behring Breivik to prison on Friday, denying prosecutors the insanity ruling they hoped would show that his massacre of 77 people was the work of a madman, not part of an anti-Muslim crusade. Breivik smiled with apparent satisfaction when Judge Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen read the ruling, declaring him sane enough to be held criminally responsible and sentencing him to “preventive detention,” which means it is unlikely he will ever be released.

The sentence brings a form of closure to Norway, which was shaken to its core by the bomb and gun attacks on July 22, 2011, because Breivik’s lawyers said before the ruling that he would not appeal any ruling that did not declare him insane.

But it also means Breivik got what he wanted: a ruling that paints him as a political terrorist instead of a psychotic mass murderer. Since his arrest, Breivik has said the attacks were meant to draw attention to his extreme right-wing ideology and to inspire a multi-decade uprising by “militant nationalists” across Europe.

Prosecutors had argued Breivik was insane as he plotted his attacks to draw attention to a rambling “manifesto” that blamed Muslim immigration for the disintegration of European society.

Breivik argued that authorities were trying to cast him as sick to cast doubt on his political views, and said during the trial that being sent to an insane asylum would be the worst thing that could happen to him.

“He has always seen himself as sane so he isn’t surprised by the ruling,” Breivik’s defense lawyer Geir Lippestad said.

The five-judge panel in the Oslo district court unanimously convicted Breivik, 33, of terrorism and premeditated murder and ordered him imprisoned for a period between 10 and 21 years, the maximum allowed under Norwegian law.

Say WHAT??? 10 YEARS for gunning down 77 people, many of them children? Horry Clap, that’s LESS THAN 48 DAYS PER MURDER!!

Forget Norway!! [ come on, how often do I get a chance to use that one? NEVER!! ]

But the REAL truth isn’t even hidden in the article ... the teaser is blatantly misleading. Breivik didn’t get 10 years. He didn’t get 21 years. He got the maximum sentence allowed under Norwegian law, and Norway is a socialist state ruled by a king. Which means the rules don’t really apply, and Breivik is serving AT THE KING’S PLEASURE. Which means he is in jail forever.

But it also means that Norway is a tyranny, where the rules changes depending on which individual is involved. And it is perfidious sanctimonious bullshit on the order of Teh Fwench to claim “loving compassionate leniency” on the one hand (Breivik only got 10 years and may be out in less?) and iron fisted authority with the other (Breivik ‘ sentencing him to “preventive detention,” which means it is unlikely he will ever be released ‘). Socialism + Tyranny = Hypocrisy? Although Socialism = Hypocrisy and Tyranny = Hypocrisy are also tautologies.

I just think it’s two faced to call it 10 years, and for the news media to present it that way, when the reality is a life sentence with zero chance of parole. Somebody, somewhere, is a lying cheating mothafucka, playing us.

RCOB: Sucker Punch

Long past time to repeal the Patriot Act and disband Homeland Security. Especially now that the “war” is over, at least according the White House. So why are the jackbooted scum at TSA expanding their role? Welcome to the police state. Say goodbye to even the smallest remaining concept of Liberty.

The War On Terror Is Over!

In the wake of the Arab Spring, the Obama administration is grappling with how to handle Islamists, radical adherents to Islam. Particularly, the issue has come to the fore in regards to Egypt, which, as Reuel Marc Gerecht notes, “is now certain” to elect “an Islamist” as its leaders the next time the Egyptian people go to the polls.

But some in the Obama administration are now seeing things differently.

“The war on terror is over,” a senior official in the State Department official tells the National Journal. “Now that we have killed most of al Qaida, now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al Qaida see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”

So assisting the creation of the Caliphate, which could be seen as the ultimate act of dhimmi submission, was the key to victory this whole time? Who knew? We could have avoided 2 wars and numberless secret support missions with just a couple dozen bullets. Take out all the oppressive dictators and let the pizzlamic rabble set up their “Sharia Democracies” and they’ll be happy. And with gains like that coming in all across the world in so short a time, they’ll be happy and content and never try to push their agenda on any other nation, right? Awesome. Glad that’s sorted out. Too bad it took 11 years and 5500 military lives to figure out. And tens of trillions of dollars, but WTF, it’s only China’s money anyway. At 15% interest.

But if it’s over, and all the big bad threat is gone, then why is the TSA becoming the New Gestapo? Why not just reset the worldview clock to 1999 so we can party down with our new “legitimate Islam” buddies? Surely you can’t be trying to tell me that a handful of kooks in the mountains of Idaho are the new national threat? Really?

TSA goon squads at the bus station: police state, here we come

Paul Joseph Watson writes for Prison Planet that Big Sis has started a program with the TSA and police officers to search and interrogate passengers on Houston buses. This practice isn’t new. As we’ve written several times at TSA News, this program of warrantless searches on buses, trains, boats, and highways, is part of VIPR, and has been going on all over the country. Houston is just the latest stop. Watson writes:

Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee unveiled the program, labeled Bus Safe, at a Friday press conference. According to a Metropolitan Transit Authority of Houston(METRO) press release, agencies involved in the scheme will, “ride buses, perform random bag checks, and conduct K-9 sweeps, as well as place uniformed and plainclothes officers at Transit Centers and rail platforms to detect, prevent, and address latent criminal activity or behavior.”

“While local law enforcement agencies focus on overall safety measures noted above, representatives with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will also be on hand, lending their counter-terrorism expertise and support during the exercise,” states the press release.

TSA expands beyond airport screening

The TSA has its hands all over the country’s transportation systems, from trains to buses to subways to ferries to trucks. Its VIPR (Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response) program has been in operation since 2005.

VIPR teams periodically descend on transportation hubs to conduct “random” searches, as they did in Tennessee; in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky; in Des Moines, Iowa; in Tampa, Florida; in Sacramento, California; and perhaps most notoriously, in Savannah, Georgia, where train passengers were separated from their luggage and body-searched after they got off the train.
...
VIPR teams also operate in the New York City subway and in other cities, where, according to the TSA, they “surge into a transit agency.”

They can also show up at “special events,” such as football games. TSA head John Pistole recently testified before Congress that the TSA “conducted more than 8,000 VIPR operations in the past 12 months, including more than 3,700 operations in mass-transit and passenger-railroad venues.”

And where the goons aren’t, their drones already are, or soon will be. With or without junior versions of Hellfire missiles aboard; you’ll never know one way or the other.

Rise of spy planes exposed after FAA is forced to reveal 63 launch sites across U.S.

There are at least 63 active drone sites around the U.S, federal authorities have been forced to reveal following a landmark Freedom of Information lawsuit.

The unmanned planes – some of which may have been designed to kill terror suspects – are being launched from locations in 20 states.

Most of the active drones are deployed from military installations, enforcement agencies and border patrol teams, according to the Federal Aviation Authority.

And if the drones aren’t flying, the security cameras are. They’re everywhere, and getting denser by the hour. Every store you shop in, every ATM machine, every parking lot, many urban and suburban streets. Hell, we’ve got 2 of them down here at the intersection. Oh, that’s just to run the stop lights. Uh huh. Sure it is. And every cop car in the state - in the country? - has a Wifi PC on the front seat connected to the national databases, and the up-armored patrolman with the fully automatic weapons in the trunk can run your picture or your plates whenever the F he wants to. And they do. Not to mention the Easy Pass transponder or your car’s built in OnStar, both of which report your whereabouts to the government. As does your cellphone, which the FBI can turn on remotely and listen in to everything it can pick up. That is, until they finish building their massive new data mining storage facility to hold a copy of every email and telephone conversation across the country. Across the world. And probably all your bank accounts and spending habits too. But don’t worry, it’s for your own good. As long as you’re a good citizen. Right, Winston Smith? Nothing to fear at all. It’s not that you have nothing to hide. It’s that you have nothing that you CAN hide. But good citizens don’t, so why worry?

Freedom? Liberty? Constitution? Like “limited government” and “sound currency” these are now meaningless terms. “No search without a warrant” & “probable cause” - soon to be Leno’s favorite punchlines.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
